Our ERT program helps houses of worship create a safe, welcoming place of worship by training volunteers in awareness, de-escalation, first aid, and emergency response. Using trusted CISA assessment tools, we guide pastors and leaders in building structured teams — from ushers to medical and, if approved, armed responders. The goal is simple: strengthen preparedness while preserving the mission and hospitality of the church.

St. Michael’s Academy offers a House of Worship Safety and Security Infrastructure Assessment designed to help churches evaluate the physical safety and preparedness of their facilities. The assessment reviews key areas such as building access, children’s ministry areas, sanctuary layout, administrative spaces, life safety systems, and overall property design.

The goal is to help churches identify strengths, uncover potential vulnerabilities, and develop a practical roadmap for improving safety over time.

Churches may purchase the Self-Assessment Package and conduct their own internal evaluation using the assessment tools and manual provided.

Consultation & Facility Walkthrough

For churches that would prefer professional guidance, St. Michael’s Academy also offers consultation services and on-site walkthrough assessments. During this process we review your facility, discuss your assessment results, and provide practical recommendations tailored to your church.
